Trigo Santana is a double bass player, arranger and music teacher. Originally from Minas Gerais, Brazil, he graduated in Double Bass Performance. His music is strongly influenced by Brazilian traditional rhythms as well as contemporary Jazz and Brazilian music. He has performed at various Brazilian and international music festivals such as Savassi Festival (NY), Sunfest World Music Festival (CAN), Kultrún Festival (CAN) and Festival Músicas do Mundo (POR).

As educator, he worked and taught at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (BRA) as substitute-professor, directed lessons at the Festival Música Sesc Arsenal 2011 (Cuiabá - MT) and at the Free Music School - the Fundation Carlos Drummond de Andrade (Itabira – MG). He studied with various double bass players such as Massimo Giorgi (ITA), Tony Botelho (BRA), Jorge Helder (BRA), Jamil Joanes (BRA), Marcos Machado (BRA-USA), Milton Masciadri (URU-USA), Leandro Braga (BRA), Laércio de Freitas (BRA), the great jazz bass players Greg Cohen (USA) and Ron Carter (USA), and the well-known double bassist François Rabbath (FRA).
